Water Environment

In this region, it is mainly spread over with alpine mountain rivers, represented by Wori River, with a total length of 70.5km. It has a drop of 1,560m and an average gradient of 2261%, with the flow of 34m3/s and annual runoff of 11 m3. In addition, it has many tributaries, including Haizi Valley, Changping Valley, Shuangqiao Valley and numerous small rivers, with the deep riverbed cutting and the altitude difference from the mountain of about 2,000~3,000m. The riverbed is mainly covered with gravel, with excellent vegetation on two banks and a great many of aquatic organisms. Tributaries are featured by small water flow, rapid flow speed and waterline, and the water depth is 0.5~2.0m usually. The flood season ranges from June to July, with about 50% of the annual runoff, and the average erosion modulus is 122.2T/km2. The highest temperature is 24.50C, and the lowest is -7.50C. The temperature is relatively high from May to October, due to the warm and humid airflow from southwest to southeast, and it is cold from November to April of the following year, due to the Siberia dry and cold westerly airflow. There are about 25 high mountain lakes connected with rivers, with an area of 2.06 km2 and a storage volume of 320,000 m3. They are mainly glacial lakes, generally small in area and shallow in water, and the lake basin is in a high position, usually above 3,500m.
